A Proven Success Story
Just 25 kilometres south of Bongin Bongin Bay lies one of Australia’s most successful marine sanctuaries.
Established in 2002, the Cabbage Tree Bay Aquatic Reserve transformed a vulnerable reef into a thriving underwater ecosystem. Today, fish populations have increased, biodiversity has flourished, and millions of people visit each year to experience its protected waters.
Protection Works
Cabbage Tree Bay shows that protecting marine habitats allows marine life to recover, ecosystems to thrive, and communities to continue enjoying the ocean for generations.
Bongin Bongin Bay has the opportunity to become the next success story, but action must happen before decline occurs.
Imagine the Future
Imagine a healthier bay, more abundant marine life, and a thriving underwater world for our children and grandchildren.
